This AGV system in reality is composed only of one Vehicle.
This AGV operate as a shuttle and picks pallets from a conveyor that brings material out of production toward expedition.
The AGV then drop the pallet in a rack where, from the opposite side, a manual truck driven by an operator take it and load it on a truck.
The control system send a string of characters to a big display on the expedition area; on this display is written the pick location from the rack and the truck number where to drop the pallet.
In this way the constrol system can communicate with the operator to guide him in truck loading.
The control system is runninc on a PC 386 with some Digiboard multiserial ports to connect the display, the host computer and the infrared transreceiver that were used to communicate with AGVs.
AGV navigation type: magnetic wire guidance.
AGV system controller: PC 386 with Digiboard multiserial cards to communicate with AGVs, DI/DO over the layout and host computer.
Charging concept: charging stations with contacts on top of the AGV, when batteries are low, the vehicle is sent there to stay and charge, as well the AGV goes on charger when there are no transports to execute.
This AGV system is working over two shifts, morning and afternoon.
Number of AGVs: 1
AGV manufacturer: Digitron
Function: AGV traffic controller developement.
