This AGV project has been developed as a supplier of Swisslog (Former Digitron) for a pharmaceutical plant in middle of Italy (Marche Region).

This system is composed of 2 AGVs that serve production in Pharmaceutical environment.

The vehicle is carrying bins through production steps from beginning till the end (washing the bin).

This system has been particolarly difficult from the administration point of view as we had to keep track of all steps.

Due to FDA, the customer needed to keep track phisically of all steps so that in the bin itself there is a magnetic code that the AGV is reading and writing with all movements.

Particular effort has been taken on testing all procedures, without any production disturbance, so that we have been working regularly over weekends.

AGV navigation type: inductive wire guidance

Traffic controller: 486 PC, in warm backup, with Digiboard multiserial ports, connected to all devices on the layout, DI/DO signals and infrared transreceivers to communicate with AGVs.

Charging concept: charging stations with contacts on top of the AGV, when batteries are low, the vehicle is sent there to stay and charge, as well the AGV goes on charger when there are no transports to execute.

This AGV system is working over two shifts, morning and afternoon.
