Swisslog, a leading company in the development of automated handling systems, commissioned us to carry out a Year 2000 (Y2K) verification project for all the systems developed together over the years.
This task force spent much of 1999 making all the AGV software systems developed together Y2K-compliant.
No systems experienced any downtime or malfunctions with the change of the millennium, and the changes made were minimal because the software was designed from the start with excellent design and quality standards.
For each AGV software system developed on behalf of Swisslog, an exhaustive search was conducted to identify all the software elements used for year-end management.
For each software element identified, one or more tests were designed to trigger potential malfunctions related to the change of the millennium.
Before running the tests, any necessary changes were made to properly manage year-end information due to the change of the millennium.
For each system, documentation demonstrating the successful outcome of the tests was produced, and all the changes made were approved by the customers.
With the advent of the year 2000, no system created by us experienced malfunctions.
